Hey you!
It’s been a minute, and we couldn’t be more excited to reconnect! I don’t know about you, but social media, has gotten a little too censored for us lately, so we’re carving out our own space right here in your inbox where we can talk like adults, unfiltered — starting with Sexual Freedom Month, where we’re spotlighting undeniable Culture Shifters all month long. Not the usual suspects, but a cross-cultural lineup curated through our unique lens.
Last week we kicked things off with Sinnamon Love, Kali Sudhra, Yasmin Benoit, Conscious Lee, and Snow Tha Product. Now that we’re out of IG jail, we’re picking up right where we left off, with day 6 of 30, featuring Erin Reed.

Since the mid-2010s, Erin Reed has been doing what mainstream media wouldn’t: tracking every bill, every ban, and every barrier aimed at the trans community. What started as a simple spreadsheet has grown into one of the most trusted sources of information on LGBTQ+ rights in the country.
Born and raised in southern Louisiana, Erin learned early that personal experience and politics are inseparable. As a trans woman, a parent, and a journalist, she brings her lived experience into every piece she writes, making her work feel less like reporting and more like a survival guide.
Her breakout came with the Informed Consent Clinic Map, a grassroots project viewed over 10 million times. When access to care was shrinking, she made it possible for people to find providers who would actually see them.
Soon after, she created the Anti-Trans Legal Risk Map, offering real-time guidance in states where laws were closing doors instead of opening them.
By her thirties, her newsletter Erin In The Morning was reaching over 120,000 subscribers, translating complex policy into human stories and practical survival tools. Her work has been cited by The New York Times, The Washington Post, Reuters, and the Associated Press, earned the 2024 Jeanne Córdova Award from the Association of LGBTQ+ Journalists, and won Best Blog at the GLAAD Media Awards.
Married in 2024 to Montana state representative Zooey Zephyr, Erin and her wife are now shaping national conversations together, in real time. True culture shifters, they’re building maps where there are no roads, telling stories where there is silence, and carving out freedom where there are walls.
